We know the economy has been tough on many families, and not everyone has an extra $100–$250 to spare. Our Surrender Assistance Program reduces financial barriers while encouraging individual and community advocacy to give animals the best chance at a safe outcome.
Each completed and verified task will be credited toward the Surrender Fee. Tasks may be combined for PARTIAL or FULL sponsorship.
$25 Credit
• Strays only: Take the animal to a veterinarian to be scanned for a microchip
• Strays only: Create a post on PawBoost, Nextdoor, and local Facebook neighborhood group to help locate a possible owner
• Share a rehoming and/or foster post in your neighborhood Facebook group
• Share a rehoming and/or foster post on Nextdoor
• Share a rehoming and/or foster plea in Florida Rabbits & Guinea Pigs
• Create a Facebook and/or Instagram fundraiser for the animal with Penny & Wild Smalls of South Florida listed as the recipient (credit given regardless of fundraiser outcome)
• Provide five clear, good-quality photos of the animal
• Each month of fostering

• Write a compelling bio describing the animal’s history and personality, what makes them special, and the type of home they would do best in
• If paying the surrender fee would cause financial hardship, please explain the circumstances
$100 Credit
• Secure an approved long-term foster willing to care for the animal for 6–9 months or until adoption
