🐹 Rescue Partner Transfer Agreement 🐰
This agreement is intended to facilitate the safe transfer of one or more animals from Penny & Wild Smalls of South Florida, Inc. to a receiving rescue. The receiving rescue affirms that they are an established rescue organization*, or independent rescuer, with experience caring for rabbits and or guinea pigs. Both parties agree that the welfare of the animal(s) is the highest priority and that all placements will be made in accordance with appropriate standards of care.
*501(c)(3) status is not required.
1️⃣ Housing
The receiving rescue agrees that all animal(s) will be housed and kept strictly indoors at all times and receive a min. 2 ft x 4 ft, 8 sq ft living space for guinea pigs and 4 ft x 4 ft, 16 sq ft for rabbits.
2️⃣ Veterinary Care
The receiving rescue agrees to provide veterinary care as needed, including wellness care and treatment of illness or injury, through an experienced exotic veterinarian.
3️⃣ Adoption & Care Standards
The receiving rescue agrees that all transferred animal(s) will be re-homed under standards of care consistent with current best practices. This includes ensuring that all animals are (1) housed strictly indoors, (2) provided with an proper living-space and enclosure*, (3) getting daily floor time for exercise, enrichment and socialization, (4) fed an appropriate species-specific diet, (5) seen by an experienced exotic veterinarian and that all prospective adopters are thoughtfully screened prior to placement.
* min. 2ft x 4ft, 8sq ft for guinea pigs or 4ft x 4ft, 16sq ft for rabbits.
4️⃣ Prohibited Uses
The receiving rescue agrees that transferred animal(s) will not be bred, used for research, used as feeder animals, auctioned, raffled, or otherwise transferred into any situation that is not consistent with ethical rescue placement.
5️⃣ Return Policy / Lifelong Safety Net
If at any time in the future the receiving rescue is no longer able to keep the transferred animal(s) or meet the terms of this agreement, they agree to notify Penny & Wild Smalls of South Florida, Inc. and return the animal(s) to their care.
